Carl Bacon, CIPM

Carl Bacon CIPM, founded Otos Ltd in April 2000. Otos Ltd provides advice to asset managers on various risk and performance measurement issues.
Carl was Chairman of StatPro Plc from 2000 to 2017 and prior to that Director of Risk Control and Performance at Foreign & Colonial Management Ltd, Vice President Head of Performance (Europe) for J P Morgan Investment Management Inc., and Head of Performance for Royal Insurance Asset Management.
Carl holds a B.Sc. Hons. in Mathematics from Manchester University and is a member of the Advisory Board of the Journal of Performance Measurement. A founder member of both the Investment Performance Council and GIPS®, Carl is chair of the GIS Committee and ex-chair of the GIPS Executive Committee, and ex-chair of both the Verification and Interpretation Sub-Committees, and founder of "The Freedom Index Company".
Carl is also the author of “Practical Portfolio Performance Measurement & Attribution” part of the Wiley Finance Series, "Practical Risk-adjusted Performance Measurement", numerous articles and papers and editor of “Advanced Portfolio Attribution Analysis”
Greg Hogan, CFA, CIPM
Partner, ACA Performance Services
Greg Hogan, CFA, CIPM, is a Partner at ACA Performance Services, a division of ACA Compliance Group. Working from ACA’s Boston office, he manages a diverse client base leveraging over 12 years of investment industry experience to his verification clients in the areas of performance measurement, portfolio analytics, and operations. Greg is an investment performance measurement expert and specializes in consulting with investment advisers seeking compliance with the Global Investment Performance Standards (GIPS®).
Previously, he was a partner with Ashland Partners & Company LLP, where he had similar responsibilities. Greg earned his undergraduate Bachelor of Science degree in Business from Elon University and his MBA from Quinnipiac University.
Hans Groetsch, CIPM
Product Manager, Revolution Composites
Hans joined Confluence in 2000 as a founding member of the German StatPro office in Frankfurt. Before he worked as Head of Performance Measurement for Credit Suisse Asset Management Germany where he was in charge of Client Reporting, Management Reporting, Performance Measurement and Attribution along with maintenance of the regional Website. From 1996 on, he was part of a global project team built with people from PwC, StatPro and Credit Suisse staff from 12 countries to define the requirements of a Software-Tool which would enable CSAM to globally claim compliance with the Performance Presentation Standard AIMR-PPS (which have become GIPS® overtime) – the birth of StatPro Composites. The project was successfully completed with the first completed Audits of all local offices in 1998.
Within Confluence Hans works as GIPS- and Product-Consultant internally and for Clients all over the world and has been Product Manager for Composites since 2001. Starting from September this year, Hans will be a member of CFA-Institute’s GIPS-Promotion Subcommittee.

Chris Smith-Hill, CIPM
Revolution Product Manager, Product Design and Reporting
Chris joined StatPro, now Confluence, in 2014 and worked as Head of User Experience and Product Manager for Revolution Performance.
As product manager for Product Design and Reporting for Revolution, Chris Smith-Hill, CIPM has extensive knowledge of Performance Team workflows and is currently leading the Revolution Composites project.
